NBA Best Bets 10/29 – gambling picks from K.M.

Posted by on October 29th, 2010

0-2 day yesterday on 1 unit plays, as I was way off on the Utah game line, and I’ll defend the Utah second half bet, but it felll apart late after being in striking distance on in cover city most of the second half. Hopefully anyone dumb enough to listen to me also listend to my NCSU straight up pick, as that saved my day overall, made a -2.2 day for me a -0.6 unit day. Hell, if you just bet NCSU and Utah and not Utah second half, you did well! I wish I was you!

Lots of games today! And I’m still up on the year! Let’s see if that lasts…after the jump!

Kings +2.5 at Nets (2 units)

OMG I AM BETTING THE KINGS! AMAZING!

In lieu of bias analysis that the Kings are awesome, here is Crazy on You by Heart. It fully expresses the deep, undivided love I have for DeMarcus Cousins. Plus the blond chick looks a lot like my mother did in the late 70′s. Now you can debate if I’m homosexual or a Freudian creep!

Heart – Crazy on You

Clippers +5.5 over Warriors (2 units)

I’m gonna guess BD always gets up to go back to Oakland. And as we all know, motivated Baron Davis is a player you want to put your money behind, and Don’t Give a **** Davis is a player you want to take the other team in that game. I’d imagine the Baron-odomer is going to be pretty high in this one compared to your average game, so that’s a big plus. Captain Kaveman and OMG GIVE HIM THE ROY AWARD NOW should find favorable matchups, and while the Wizards guard talents should score, no reason the Clippers can’t keep pace. Seems much more of a toss up to me then a game befitting a -5.5 line.

Pistons (+6) vs. Thunder (1 unit)

Hey, Detroit has great crowds. This isn’t the easiest place to play. Thunder are a bit overpriced after blowing out the Bulls late, Detroit didn’t look that bad vs. the Nets, I stole that cover before the Pistons stole it back from me, and in general I like this play. Plus this fits the model of great team laying a line that looks really small to a gambling “rube”, aka a trap. If it is, I’m on the book’s side here, and that’s always something that gives me great comfort. See: my Cavs over Celtics bet Wednesday.

Hawks -3.5 vs. Sixers (1 unit)

You want to be really good at PG or inside or from the arc if you want to beat Atlanta, who is probably the easiest team to predict, some teams give them hell, some teams the Hawks are tailor made to beat the tar out of. Ask yourself honestly, what the hell problems can the Sixers present the Hawks? Hell, home court for Philly is hardly a plus for them, more or less anything on the court. Seems scary, and I’m on the square side here, but my predictably feelings here trump my gambling instincts and make me lay my money down on a side that looks “trappy”.

Pacers +5 over Bobcats (1 unit)

I need an 800 number to call. I’m betting an Indiana Charlotte game. I mean seriously, how pathetic of me. I might as well bet Russian and Greek Euroleague basketball.

Anyway, Indiana is strong at the point and the center spot. Charlotte isn’t. Indy has one great forward to help negate Charlottes depth at the F positions, an I just really forsee Collison and Hibbert both having very good games. Toss in anything from the guy most people consider Indiana’s best player, and I think that’s plenty enough offense to beat the Bobcats, one of least explosive teams in the league.

I’m not touching the ESPN games…I saw heavy early action on the Heat last night, which indicated to me the really professional gamblers who prey on those weak opening lines were really anxious to bet the Heat in this game. That was enough to spook the hell out of me, so I abandoned all plans to bet the Magic. And I like the Lakers, but I want to give Pau a couple more games to really get into form before I go to work with them.
