Not a fun day yesterday. Joe Johnson misses 2 of 4 late FT’s and I lose that bet by 0.5 points (the “hook”) and I think Sacto got outscored 17-3 or so in the last 3 and a half minutes after DeMarcus Cousins fouled out and the Kings blew a 2 unit game for me. That drops me to -2.8 units on the season, but that’s a 4.2 unit swing just on my team missing at least 2 FT’s with the game under 24 seconds to blow a cover, so I’m not too displeased. Only made two super poor picks so far…and hit some nice winners, but down is down, and I need to get back up, so let’s get back up with the 2 unit play everyone saw coming and a IV full of chalk for one unit plays…click to find out what chalk is healthy chalk.
Kings +2 over Cavs (2 units)
I was betting all three of the Kings first games as soon as I saw the schedule, forseeing a 2-1 start. Well, it’s 1-1 now, so if I’m gonna be right, this should be gold. I’m not sure there is one position on the court where the Cavaliers are better then the Kings, to be honest wtih you. That’s a pretty sweet situation. No, I’m not going to bet every Kings game, but I am betting this one.
Memphis Grizzlies -8.5 over the Timberwolves (1 unit)
Not a good matchup for the Wolves, as the Grizz are strong on the wins and inside, and the T-Wolves lack the PG to take advantage of the Wolves. Wolves on the road are a great place to bet against them, nobody denies this.
Hawks -9.5 over Wizards (1 unit)
Hawks owe me one after blowing what was a super easy cover last night because Joe Johnson is terrible from the FT line all of a sudden. As always, there are three ways to take advantage of the Hawks, PG play, size, or 3 point shooting. The size and the 3 point shooting of the Wizards does not worry me at all, and the PG play on the road I’ll take my chances against. The Hawks should score at will in this one…which reminds me…
Hawks Over 195.5 (1 unit)
Hawks should blow up here, and Wizards have to play better offense then they did vs. the Magic. But no matter what, the Wizards arn’t defending a soul, so I see both teams nearing or exceeding triple digits. I rarely bet totals, but this one looks good to me.
Pacers -5 vs. Sixers (1 unit)
I read last night that the Sixers are going to start Andres Nocioni at small forward. Has it really come to this already, Philadelphia? Hibbert should destroy the Sixers, Collison has the advantage at PG, and nobody can check Granger. I don’t plan on being on the Pacers that much, but hey, they look decent early, so let’s ride it.
Season: 5-6, -2.8 units
2 unit plays: 1-2 (-2.4 units)
1 unit plays: 4-4 (-0.4 units)
