If you don’t want to know the results of the 2012 Olympics Women’s gymnastics team finals results stop reading now.
From their dominating start on vault to the amazing finishes on their floor routines the U.S. woman definitely made us proud bringing home the team gold in the 2012 Olympics Women’s gymnastics team finals, the first team gold since 1996 in Atlanta. With everyone doing their part and bringing their best today it was a definite team effort.
Many questioned whether Jordyn Wieber would be able to come mentally prepared after the dramatic first night and missing out on the all around finals but she put those doubts to rest. Makayla Maroney was amazing with her appearance in the vault scoring an insanely high 16.233, sticking her landing. Gabby Douglas showed everyone just how consistent she can be scoring above 15 on all events. And with strong performances from Kyla Ross and Aly Raisman the U.S. easily claimed gold with a large 5.066 point lead over Russia who claimed silver.
Russia gave the U.S. a good fight up until the final rotation on floor where catastrophe struck the team and they had some huge mistakes.
Romania took the bronze medal showing how consistent they are in the sport with this being the 10th Olympics in a row they have taken home a gymnastics medal in the team competition.
Coming in fourth was China, the reigning team Olympic gold medalists from 2008 who just couldn’t compete with the competition.
It was an exciting night and a great victory for the U.S.! Now they have to mentally prepare themselves for the individual competition, should be fun to watch.
