2013 NFL Draft Buffalo Bills team needs

What could the Bills be looking for on draft day?

Here is my list of 2013 NFL Draft Buffalo Bills team needs and a couple prospects that could fill those needs:

Wide Receiver- Tavon Austin (8), Quinton Patton (41), Robert Woods (41), Justin Hunter (41), Da’Rick Rodgers (71)

The Bills need weapons in Doug Marrone’s new offense.  While Cordarrelle Patterson could be an option at eight, I can’t see him going that high.

Linebacker- Kiko Alonso (71), Sio Moore (71), Sean Porter (105), Zavier Gooden (105)

The Bills need athletic linebackers in their defense.

2013 TSHQ CFB Preseason Top 25: #8 South Carolina Gamecocks

As another off season of College Football material kicks off, this year marks the third year I’ll throw my hat in the ring and look at a number of topics and categories. In the process I’ll look to do everything from predicting next year’s 25 best teams, identify the games of the year, narrow down the Heisman field, identify those replacing 2012′s stars and ultimately make predictions for each league, culminating in a national championship pick. They’ll be many things I’ll be ridiculed for. There will be a number of things that will surprise some people. Ultimately you’ll come away from the next 6 months of material as ready for the college football season as I can possibly make you. While I’ll be sure to miss on things I would like to remind the skeptics I did correctly predict the same number of bowl teams preseason as Phil Steele a year ago as well as top him in BCS Bowl participants predicted before the year. Nonetheless I’m not putting out any magazines soon so keep buying his for the top preseason coverage available.

The key in any top 25 poll is understanding the premise on which the poll is based because not all top 25 polls are built the same way. Some people choose to rank teams 1-25 based on where they think teams will be ranked at year’s end. If they think a team will lose 5 games they won’t rank them. While that may seem logical I’ve never been a proponent of that style of poll and it has never been, nor will ever be, how I choose to do my top 25 polls. My polls reflect the 25 teams entering 2013 who I think are the top 25 teams on a neutral field if the country played a round-robin. If a team is likely to max out at 7 wins that doesn’t give me the urge to rank a nine-win team over them if the nine-win team is from a much weaker league. With that covered, let us continue the top 25 for 2013 as the official kickoff of the off season coverage here at The Sports Headquarters.

Kevin Kolb’s fit with the Bills

Posted in NFL by on April 12th, 2013

Most know of my undying love for Kevin Kolb the player.

Well undying may be a bit strong, but he was the best quarterback on the Cardinals roster for two seasons, and it was never more apparent than the last ten games of the 2012 season when the Cardinals tried and failed three times to find someone, anyone that could replicate what Kolb was doing to start the season.

Now Kolb is heading to Buffalo, where he will compete for the starting job with Tavaris Jackson and likely a rookie quarterback, to be the Bills signal caller in new head coach Doug Marrone’s Frankenstein West Coast offense.

Can Bills fans expect anything other than a few flashes of good, some bad and then a season ending injury?

What does Kevin Kolb bring to the Bills?

Let’s take a look at Kevin Kolb’s fit with the Bills.

Over the last two months I have had the honor of working over at arizonaports.com, one of the better sports sites dedicated to all things sports related in Arizona.

While working there I have put out a litany of Arizona Cardinals 2013 Draft related work, answering all of the questions you may have about prospects, fits, and what the Cardinals could do come draft day 2013.

Well, it dawned on me that I could link all of my work from my site here to my work at AZSports, updating it with new pieces daily, in order to always keep you updated on the Arizona Cardinals 2013 Draft.

Orlando Magic Center Nikola Vucevic Worthy Of NBA Most Improved Player Award

Posted in Magic, NBA by on April 3rd, 2013

nikola vucevic orlando magic usc.jpg

In just his second season, Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic improved his stats by 7 points and 6.7 rebounds — three of the top-30 scoring centers in the league don’t even average that. The former USC Trojan averages 12.5 points, 11.5 rebounds for a truly underachieving Orlando Squad.

Vucevic has the advantage of being a 7-footer but his agility and shooting touch is almost incomparable. Not to mention it took Vucevic just 31 games in an Orlando uniform to pull down a franchise-record-setting 29 rebounds in a single game, a record previously held by a guy named Shaquille O’Neal.
